Lucasfilm Games announces a new Star Wars game

After the announcement of a new Indiana Jones games in partnership with Machine Games, today we learnt of another partnership this time to develop a new IP within the Star Wars universe.

Ubisoft Massive is the team behind The Division 1 and The Division so we know the game is in safe hands.

Previously EA had the exclusive rights to the Star Wars franchise with games like Star Wars Jedi Fallen and Star Wars Battlefront 2. EA were quick to post that they will continue working on the Star Wars franchise:

Douglas Reilly the VP of Lucasfilm Games talking about Star Wars games:

We’re looking to work with best-in-class teams that can make great games across all of our IP. We’ve got a team of professionals here at Lucasfilm Games who can work with the developers, shape the stories, shape the creative, shape the games, to make them really resonate with fans and deliver across a breadth of platforms, genres, and experiences so that all of our fans can enjoy the IPs that they know and love.

This is great news for Star Wars fans as we can expect many more games to be developed within that rich and diverse universe.
