Out of the blue today, Bethesda announced a game that we have all been waiting for. The movie that has inspired game characters like Lara Croft and Nathan Drake, the original adventurer, Indiana Jones.
A new Indiana Jones game with an original story is in development from our studio, @MachineGames, and will be executive produced by Todd Howard, in collaboration with @LucasfilmGames. It’ll be some time before we have more to reveal, but we’re very excited to share today’s news!— Bethesda (@bethesda) January 12, 2021
The game is being made by Machine Games the team behind the successful Wolfenstein series in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games and that Todd Howard (Elder Scrolls and Fallout 4) is the executive producer of the game.
We are not sure if the game will be first or third person, how long the game has been in development or which systems will the game be released upon. Microsoft is finalising a deal to purchase ZeniMax Media the parent company to Machine Games so it is possible the game will only be available on PC and Xbox. It expected that Indiana Jones will release day one on Xbox Game Pass.
