It looks like PlatinumGames Director Hideki Kamiya, is open to reviving Scalebound. In a recent interview with a Youtube channel GameXplain, Kamiya and Platinum Head Atsushi Inaba talked about the possibilities on bringing the game back one day but ultimately, it’s down to Microsoft since they own the Scalebound IP.
Atsushi Inaba: We don’t think that it’s a forbidden topic or anything like that, we’re happy to talk about it. Though, the IP does still rest with Microsoft, we do get a lot of fans still that do show interest in the title, and we’re always happy to see if there are still people that are really interested in it coming out one day. The fans are thinking, you know like, there was a lot of possibilities, or a lot of cool things that looked like Kamiya might have been able to accomplish with that title, you know. And we also think, man, it would have been really nice to have that kind of opportunity, but it’s not for us to say.
Kamiya if you want to see it again – please, send a letter to Phil Spencer.

After Atsushi Inaba’s comment on Scalebound, Kamiya made a call out to Phil Spencer
“Phil, let’s do it again together”
We believe it’ll be great to see the revival of Scalebound. The game was ambitious, and had so much potential. The Monster Hunter esque action RPG was first revealed during Microsoft’s 2014 E3 Press Briefing then had a gameplay reveal at Gamescom and Microsoft’s 2016 E3 Press Briefing. The project was then canned in January 2017.
After careful deliberation, Microsoft Studios has come to the decision to end production for Scalebound. Read More: https://t.co/lTQD8PJ6GX
