Sony is no stranger to portables. The PlayStation Portable (PSP) launched in 2004 and PlayStation Vita in 2011, but it has been seven years since we saw a new handheld console from Sony. According to a post in Techtastic, a patent filed by Sony in South Korea hints at an “electronic game cartridge,”.
Could this a cartridge for a new PSP? Or could we see the PS 5 be a home console and handheld like the Nintendo Switch? PlayStation Chief John Kodera‘s stated in May 2018 that “Rather than separating portable gaming from consoles, it’s necessary to continue thinking of [portable gaming] as one method to deliver more gaming experiences.”
What ever happens it is going to be an exciting 2019
