During today’s SEGA-Nama livestream, Yakuza’s Executive Director Toshihiro Nagoshi briefly teased that he will unveil a new IP in September. He mentioned that the game will be different compared to his previous work. Nagoshi-San also mentioned that he had a vision for this project through three different stages and that the studio has been working on this game for the last three years.
It was previously known that Ryu ga Gotoku Studio are working on a new IP. Sega Sammy CEO, Haruki Satomi mentioned the studio’s new project during an interview on Famitsu weekly. The studio is also hard at work on the next instalment of the Yakuza franchise code named “Shin Yakuza”.
Chances are that SEGA and Ryu ga Gotoku studio may host a livestream in September before or during the Tokyo Game Show to reveal their new IP, or they might announce it during Sony’s press conference which is a week before the Tokyo game show.
