Today Sony has announced that 500 million PlayStation Systems have been sold worldwide. This includes every single unit of the Sony home console going all the way back to the original PlayStation. However old you are and whatever console you currently own from the Sony line-up, its one amazing achievement and what better way to bring more storage on a new PlayStation 4 than a limited edition one?
The 2TB PS4 Pro 500 Million Limited Edition (That’s a mouthful!) goes on sale in the UK on the 24th August 2018 with a hefty price tag of £449.99. The original PS4 Pro 1TB went on sale back in November 2016 with a market price of £349.99 so a £100 bump up for a translucent blue PS4 Pro as well as an extra 1TB HDD storage is debatable, to say the least.
If you’re thinking of picking a unit up though, you better decide fast as Sony has also stated that only 50,000 units will be available to purchase. How many of these units the UK will be getting is currently unknown. However, each limited edition PS4 Pro is numbered at the bottom with its official special engraving.
As a first of its kind for the PlayStation 4 line-up, the 500 Million Limited Edition PS4 Pro is completely see-through and comes with a wireless DualShock 4 controller parallel to the limited edition console. If you’re looking to pick up an additional controller, these will set you back £54.99.
Be fast though, pre-orders open in the UK from 10am on Tuesday, 14th August.
